Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi’s Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) is set to launch training programmes in Machine Learning and Internet of Things-based Automation on January 15, 2024. The courses are being launched for engineering, BCA, MCA, ITI, polytechnic, teachers, trainers, and working professionals. The duration of the courses will be one month.

The registration for these free offline courses has already commenced and will continue till January 12. The focus of the programmes will be on soft skills, English speaking, interview preparation, personality development, group discussions, and entrepreneurship skills. Furthermore, startup support will be provided for the holistic development and career success of the candidates, the IIT said in a press release.

In the Certification in Machine Learning Programme, students will learn Mathematical Foundations, Python Programming, Statistical Foundations and Visualization Data, Visualization, and Pre-processing Machines, Learning and Applications, and other areas.

While in the Certification in Internet of Things-based Automation Programme, candidates will be given domain sessions on Python Programming, Android Application Development, Web Development, Computer Vision, and over 10 IOT Projects.

“These elements will help the candidates not only learn theoretical concepts but also gain practical skills that are directly applicable in the industry. The combination of programming, application development, web development, and hands-on lab sessions prepares them for a diverse set of challenges they may encounter in the IoT field,” IIT Mandi said.

The free-of-cost programmes are being launched in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) “to provide skills and knowledge to participants, fostering professional development and contributing to the overall advancement of education and vocational training in the region,” the IIT said.

Speaking about the training programmes being offered by the institute, Prof. Tushar Jain, Head, Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), IIT Mandi, said, “These programs are being sponsored by HPKVN, Shimla in collaboration with IIT Mandi and will be a great opportunity for the youth of Himachal to experience studying at IIT Mandi under the guidance of senior faculty and get practical exposure on advance IIT‘s Labs along with Placement support.”
